Do modern tuners stuff crankcases anymore?

The general consensus, amongst 17 year old moped riders, was that it was an obsolete idea given up in the sixties. I would think if that were the case then modern hot rodders would be enlarging their cases but that's why I'm asking.

I think chainsaw crankcases are already pretty minimal compared to some of the older bikes and snow machines that they stuffed.
