Do shorter bars cut faster?

Funnily enough, the small gash between thumb and index finger didn't hurt as much as where it bounced off the knuckle. No one handing here, it was a fluke kickback off a pile of skids. Just a stupid ripleys thing with kettle handled saw. lol. Nothing that couldn't be buffed out though.
