Firstly, thanks for the info, that's really good stuff and to anyone who runs a business very important to know what's out there.

I know what your saying and it appears cheap at $4.00 a lead ... can't go wrong with that...
... do you think that it'll fill up with hacks though? If it's free that's what usually happens and then you got compete against elcheapos.

I went on the site and run a few examples and checked out getting membership, site ran fast, seemed efficient and professional. I cross checked a few search engines and on some it wasn't there.

Hmmm, don't know, I pay heavily for online advertising and it could save me bucks (if I were in USA) but then again I get some work from online ads because it's not chock a block with tree companies getting free advertising.

What are the geographical restrictions for advertisers? Perhaps one suburb is free and then you need to pay for more coverage?

Personally, I hope it doesn't come here, there's already too many fingers in the pie.

Ekka,

I've only used it here in Hawaii where I have only two others posted and they are so bad that I secure 90% of my leads. The last customer told me they showed up in a pickup truck and just shot them a price, no card, no paperwork, and the customer went with mine even though it was more expensive.

The biggest problem with TSD from my point of view is the customers on the other side of the Island wanting ONE tree pruned or two Coconut palms trimmed and I refer them elsewere but I still have to pay the four bucks.

Anyway, hope others reading this bring their professionalism to TSD and make a few extra bucks to boot.

I've been using TSD for over a year. I'm not real crazy about it, because you do get a fair amount of "shoppers" and a lot of small jobs. We simply mention our minimum charge during the first contact in order to screen out the bargain hunters. If the customer is outside of your service area or requests a service that you don't provide, you can report it to TSD as an invalid lead and you don't have to pay. I'd rate it a 5 on a scale of 10.

Just did a search in my area and out of 9, only 1 reputable service, The rest are butchers and hacks. Not sure I'd want to advertise next to that.

I'm not sure I follow the logic of that. :dizzy:

I have used it since April of 2002. Member #248. In my counties that I am listed in I am the only one listed except for two counties. I only pay 3$ per request and also mention my min. price which helps to weed out shoppers. And you can contest invalid requests. I have talked to the guys who run this site on several occasions and they have been wonderful to work with. I get all of my work from referrals. The only advertising I do is with TSD. Worth it in my opinion.

Redbull you are Tree's R Us ? I checked the site last night and that was the only co i could find in our area. Thought you had just started your company this past year. For some reason i didn't think that was you...????????????????

No, I'm listed in Clay, Clinton, and Platte County in MO. I don't work in Kansas except for a few existing cust. The name of my company is Grosko Family Tree Care.
