I like the valdotain tresse with a micro pulley. I'm new to this and I was using a double looped prussic.. but then I kept on having to stop somewhere and transfer my weight to my lanyard while I re-dress my prussic because it would get so tight that it would just grab my rope and I couldn't descend. Any tips?

Try using a Blake's Hitch. Works much better on DRT.

Blake's hitch works really well with a micropulley added!
