they might not even be for a saw........
the say germany in it and have a picture of a horse stamp in. there is also a directional arrow stamped.

it's a rectangular shape and only has cutters on 2 sides.

which one's? for square grind? the other ones would not be good for rakers since there too narrow. i have sandvik oberg files for square grind if you want. there not the 150's though.

also if you need a welder for your log turner let me know. i have a lincoln 255 mig just sitting in storage. you'll need a 210 hook up and have to rent or borrow a gas bottle. i could leave it with you for a few months if you would like.

Looks like the file is made for machine clamping not hand held; how about the pferd prosharp or such that cuts raker as the other file does the cutter. I have never had my hands on it though. I have seen similar triangular files for the foley handsaw filer.

i think you nailed it..........i had one of those thing a ma jigs years a go and if i remember correctly that is what they looked like.

Speculation on my part but it could possibley be a form of what's known as a lathe file,really.This type file has no cutting edge on the sides,only the faces.It's made for filing metal in a spinning lathe,if that's what it is.
