Does the wife/significant other influence saw purchases

I wish I could have taken a picture of my wife's face when she heard me say I have saws that cost over 1K. She couldn't imagine it.

She said you have saws that cost you over 1K with a face and expression of utter disbelief.

So any influence from her would be on the negative side of buying.

I did tell here that they are what I use for flush cutting stumps and taking down the bogger trees with my stump grinding business and tree service.

I still don't think she gets it.

None of the categories fit for the poll. My wife doesn't really pay much attention to the saw side of things. As long as there's plenty of firewood for the furnace she's happy. I don't keep all the saws I buy and flip them on a pretty regular basis so the number stays about the same at somewhere between 15 and 20. In light of everything else we have going on, it isn't much impact financially either way. Just a hobby for me.

My saws come from my account not our family account. No need ti disrupt the budget for a toy.

She doesn't say too much, for Christmas one rear I bought her a brand new husqvarna Viking sapphire sewing machine for Christmas. That was more than I have ever paid for one single saw so I don't think she cares as long as there is wood in the basement!

I make enough money fixing saws and selling firewood that my saw hobby costs me basically nothing. She wouldn't say anything anyway, but it's nice not to have to hide the saws.

Cause I couldn't anyway.

I keep track of all my saw purchases, parts purchases and saw sales on a spreadsheet. I've spent about $4000 on saws, $800 on parts and sold about $4000 worth. So I have about $800 invested into all the saws I haven't sold. Shouldn't be too much squabbling over that. My wife trusts me to be wise with our funds and it goes both ways. I don't worry about her purchases either because we're both cheapskates. Working for a non profit for the last 16 years, that is an important survival tool. Our combined income now is less than it was 26 years ago when we got married but we don't go without anything we need. God has blessed us.

Guess I'm dumb but I need an explanation of that statement...

I’m not really a barbarian, it was her idea to post the reply and for the pic. But she says I have to keep my tough guy persona hanging out here.
