thanks for the info tom but i'm not talking about the dogvine knot. it's called a dogbone rigging sling. i've attached the only pic i can find of it. it's circled. sorry for the quality but as i said, it's all i could find.

Where did you get the name "dog bone rigging sling" ?

The only name that I've ever seen for the device is a rack or some variation on that.

Who put together that kit?

MB...I used a rack when doing single line descents before I got an I'd. If I do any climbs where I have to carry gear and weight is an issue, the rack goes into my pack. Cavers aren't the only ones who use racks. Did you see the CBS Sunday Morning show of my Moonlight Majesty Climb? Patty Jenkins descended on a rack.
