My neibour is having an auction tomorrow. He's got a 120SI, and a 50cc Dolmar from the same vintage (112 I think)...He looks after his equipment better than anyone I've ever met, looks almost new.

Has anyone run a 120SI.... Likes/Dislikes? What do you think a decent price at auction might be.

According to Acre's

68cc, 16 lb, 4.8HP DIN (what is DIN???), max RPM says 9000 in the owners manual he has with the saw...

Its wearing a 20" 3/8.

I had the previous version of that--a 120 super. It was my favorite saw of all time. The 120si, last time I looked, and when I could find one on ebay, brought a lot of money.

Well its quite well known on here that I like the Sachs Dolmars a lot and the 120si is a real worker. I own and run a dozen of the Dolmars and the si saws are always a little more powerful than the models without this designation. My 116 si is more powerful than my 116 and my 120 si is also over my 120 Super. A good one around here would sell for 350-400 Cdn.

I have owned a 120SI and they are very nice saws. Starts on 1 or two pulls cold and 1 pull warm. The last one I saw sell brought $369 US.

I have owned 3 112's and have one now. Rugged and dependable, but that applies to all the Dolmar saws that that I have run. They are a top quality German chain saw.:chainsaw:

They are an excellent saw. Very strong and fast. And of all the saws that I have ran and heard run the 120si is the best sounding saw bar none. It's like a well tuned hotrod with a set of flowmasters.

Thanks for the responses.... I'm pretty excited. I'm hoping not too many show interest in the the saws.

Not too many Dolmars around here that I've seen. Hopefully that will throw people off.

That seals the deal, I'm taking the morning off work to go to the auction. Too bad I didn't know he was ditching his saws prior to seeing the add about the auction.

What's the deal with the Acers HP rating (4.8 DIN) then he has the 120 super at 8 HP?

Also the 120 super looks like nikasil and the si is chrome??? seems a bit weird.

Just missed it....

Someone got a great deal....

The order of the sale messed me up. The wife wanted me to bid on a rototiller for her, and we only had so much cash to go around. Unfortunately they auctioned the saw prior to the tiller.....

The 111 went for 85 with a box of files.....

I stopped bidding at 180 for the 120SI.... It sold for 200.

As it turns out I was out bid on the Tiller too... oh well win some lose some.

Rick I just bought another 120si three weeks ago ........Im keepin a few around like my collection of 660's .......:):)
