Dolmar 7900 HD Air Filter ordering and Issues

Does anyone know where I can purchase the Dolmar 7900 HD air filters? It seems these are out of stock everywhere and no one knows when they will be back in stock. I'm starting to think the HD filter kit was a bad idea.

Here are the part numbers:
HD Filter: 038173310
Pre-Wrap: 038173350

For those of you who do run these be fore-warned. My filter came apart at the base. The filter material separated from the base while cutting. There was no glue on the filter material that I could see. I'm curious to know if this issue is more widespread. I hope I didn't suck more sawdust into my carb and engine than needed. I did take the carb off and clean it but I did not take the cylinder apart.

Replacement Filters ARE NOT OUT OF STOCK EVERYWHERE I have plenty as well as my Distributor having them in Stock.......... YOUR DEALER Needs to ORDER THEM and He Can Get Them!!

We don't sell enough of the individuals to stock them but, I checked with our drop shipper, and they've got plenty of each on the shelf.

He did order. It's been two weeks and no filters. I'm in southwest Michigan and yet there seems to be a warehouse in Chicago that has plenty of them. I don't understand.

I had that same problem with the hd filter and went back to the stock filter.

Huh,,mines 1 1/2 yrs old now and no problem.
dolmar dealer had it in stock same price as mail order minus shipping charges.

I have 3 of them no problems at all with the filters. Just order one from cuttinscott and be done with it .

I was warning and asking all at the same time as stated in my original note. I like to base my decisions on acquired and known logic. If others are having issues I would like to know. Otherwise I consider the issue as a one time problem and I will keep running the HD Filters. Making a rash decision to change filters based on a problem with one filter is not logical.

I believe that the correct phrase here should be "he said that he ordered". No offence, but I've received items from the US into Canada quicker than that.

I have always used the stock filter. It works just fine and the saw does not look like its wearing a cod piece.

I live in North Central Ohio and the local dealer orders from the Distributor, Central Power in Columbus, Ohio who is supposed to be your distributor also.

I emailed the local dealer that I wanted one a month ago and it came on the UPS truck late morning the next day.

Sounds like a classic case of the dealer waiting until he gets enough part orders to make one big order instead of several small ones.

I get my Dolmar parts from Pat's (psep2.biz) 4-5 day flat 7.95 ship. No prob getting anything inc. HDAF kits. Have heard of some problems with the HD AF not being glued. I'm not switching back to sm. filter just check my HD every time it's used.

No problems with the base glue on the three I rotate, but one had a tear in the paper when I got it new. I was a little pissed about it being new and torn, but it was only a 1/2 inch long, so busted out the JB Weld and glued the tear. I have checked mine because of these warnings, thanks for the repeat heads up

What is a cod piece??? Is that for cutting during lent??? especially on fridays???
