whats the diffrence or is there one. in UK we don't have dolmer, only makita.

Can buy a new DSC 5000 for less than a MS 240, and none of the hassle of proving U can use a saw at a stihl dealer. do you guys i the USA have some Proof of safe use policy?

Hell no, no need to "prove" to the mas'sa that you are a grownup and able to use a chainsaw. I can't believe that you guys consider this kind of paternalistic crap acceptable. Where did the self-respect and dignity of the Europeans go?

Sucks big time

can't even buy online unless you are a registered customer of the dealer.. I know it sucks!!

but i gather you guys can't buy online full stop!

1- Orange/Black vs. Blue/Grey color scheme
2- 14,500 RPM Coil (PS5100S) vs 13,500 RPM Coil (PS-5000 & DCS5000)
3- Aluminum Handle Bar (PS5100S) vs. Plastic Handle Bar (PS-5000 & DCS5000)

Could it be shipped?

so what would a 5100 cost in the US, and any idea what shipping would be to uk?

True, but that's a contractual matter between the dealer and the OEM, and has nothing to do with the power of the State being used to exert someone's particular vision of right and wrong...

The Nanny

Hallo,

i have got a Dolmar PS 5000, you can buy the Makita 5000, it is like the PS 5000, only the colour is blue.
The PS 5100 has got another muffler, another crankshaft and another carburetor, thats all.

huh?

So why doesn't makita make the 5100 as a Makita model, seems strange that they only make that model as a dolmar?

@ sawtroll

Your wife is wearing my Dolmar T-Shirt

:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Well, she got it from the nice guys at The Cutting Edge (Scott and Steve) - the woods dress is a Stihl Forestwear Comfort, and the helmet etc is Husky - no brand loyalty here.......:biggrinbounce2: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

The saw that she was "trained" with, by her father, is the ol' Jreds 621 that I have......
