Gentlemen,

Medium size 4x4 dumptrucks... which one has the lowest deck height?

We have F550 reg cab, tool boxes behind with Rugby/Dejana... not a bad truck to pull stuff with, but its a bit too high to hand load (straight frame). Axle in the center of the dump so cant really load it up that much anyways.

GMC 3500 - good thing about it is that it has a curved frame, thus bed sits lower, still kind of high though.

I looked at dodge and that was even higher than ford.

Open to move up to medium duty trucks... but definitely would love something sitting as high as possible, 4x4 would be nice but not necessary. Thoughts??

We went to a dump trailer for that reason, and like it. Really handy.

Yeah, we have a Bri Mar dual axle...

The thing is that we do mostly residential so space is of premium, and so is grass we ride over ;) So most of the time a long set is not convinient, nor dropping a bin and loading it. Plus our pull rig sometime doubles as a chip hauler.

Our main problem is that we load everything by hand... but thats another thread in itself. :dizzy:

I hear that, loading big rounds into the back of a dump truck by hand sucks! We've got a few trailers and use the dump trailer for large heavy rounds but I also hear you about space being an issue, same deal for us...
