My Friend and employer, "Mike White," of White's tree service ask me to work on this Euc. He wanted to use a crane, but there were just to many things in the way.
The tree leaned a lot and had long branches that grow out over the house, brick work, wires, fence, and a ugly Jacaranda tree that they preferred to keep.
Not a really hard removal, but most the top had to be rigged down, and even then there were challenges.
The branches were very long and right over the top of thing, so that even letting them hang would get tangled in stuff below.
I had looked at the tree a few days before and practiced at home with some 1/4 in. rope and sticks on a idea I had to deal with with those branches.
Cradling them was what was needed, but spider legs don't seem to always work out well for me. But modifying a technic I used on crane removal I did this," After placeing a pulley up in the highest part of the tree and closest to the branches to be removed. I went to the ends of the branches and was able to cut them so they'ed bounce off the back of the jacaranda, leaving only solid wood, With a short piece of rope I tied one end off on the outside end, then put a steel figure 8 on that line and tied the other end ahead of where I was going to make my cut. I moved the figure 8 to where I wanted it then clipped the lowing line to it, and had the ground guys tighten it. I made the cut and she flew off perfectly level, over the top of the tree and wires and was safely lowered.
I even skidded(speedlined)one down like that.
I just wanted to share my new found technic, I am sure there are some who probably invented this too, but for those who haven't it could come in handy. It's easy and not equipment intensive.
