....I most likely have the fastest (stock innards) climb saw on the planet...thanks to Rich Hoffman who sent it to me in pieces over 18 months ago, and it is still working flawlessly..

Ok, here's some cut times. I have hardly any good wood at home right now. These times are in 8 to 7 inch birch, each cut is in slightly smaller wood.
I video taped all the cuts and determined the times down to .0065 seconds, as each frame is 1/15th of a second.
200T stock, screen out 8.55
335 stock dual port muffler 9.55 chain dull, rakers high, oiler not working
335 same as above, 6.23, fixed
ehp 192T 8.5 it felt faster..and is a sweet little saw. Great work, ED!!
200T, stock, screen removed 7.1
PP338 one 9/16th port 7.0
335Cali, stock w/ dual port muffler 7.55

ehp 372 2.0seconds 20", 8 pin sq filed
PP 7900 2.1--22" 7 pin round filed
ehp 372 1.9 I got this saw on ebay, sent it directly to Ed, it needed rings, so isn't yet broken in.
346XP-Greffardized 3.23 seconds 18" .325 Stihl chisel
372 Walkerized 1.95 seconds 24" semiskip 8 pin mighty fast for 4 yrs old...

old Husky 44, stock w/ported muffler 3.75 seconds what a nice old saw!!

These next 4 are hand timed by myself just watching my stopwatch,so not all that accurate:
335 Cali, brand new bone stock appx 9 seconds
192T 6 se--in smaller wood it comes alive
200T 6 se--if Ed ported this, it'd prolly cut a 4 or less!!!
335 dual port 5 se--still a wicked fast li'l dynamo!!!

Now, you danged delivery guy, bring me my cell phone, you were s'posed to be here by now. I've been stuck at home all day, as I have to sign for the phone.

There's a poor quality video there of 2 huge poplars that I'm putting a bid together on, and two of the ehp 372 and PP7900 with the same chain.

Hi Roger, glad the 372W and 346G are still going strong.
I think we better find and salt away as many of those 346's and 372's as we can, because when we get old in about 20 years we will be bragging about what a good saw they were in their day.
John

maybe Craig will go down and help you with his 200's, Roger you have me with 2 - 372's. are you sure cause I am pretty sure I only have made you 1 so far, the other saw was a 357. I have a 372 to do for you here and a 346 and a 5100 and it is to have a pipe alse

ok Roger I just was trying to figure out where the other saw came from :dizzy:

you know I am getting old and the first thing to go is the mind but I am way ahead of them on that cause there was no mind there to begin with :blob2:

Hey Brad, long time no chat! I have you to thank for hooking me up with the fellow from whom I got 3 new 200T's over a year ago, correct? for $370 each if I recall. Cheerio, mate!! I sold two to buddies and kept one. Ed tells me he wants to build a pipe for it...and a head.... and race it against the model airplanes...I think it'll need some condor sized wings tho.... :Monkey: :dizzy:

How did you mod the "old Husky 44'?

Could you give a few details of what you did to the 44? I have a couple and really like the weight and balance and would like to try to up the power on one of them.

Thanks,
Jim

That still blows me away Roger. When I sent you that saw it was a box full of pieces and the saw never oiled when I had it! Glad to see that you made good use of it ;) considering the checkered past that the 335 has!

Jim, I opened up the slits on the muffler, and added a similar port to the other side. Result, she's a fast little saw now, as you noticed by the cut times not lagging the 346 by all that much.
