Went ahead and bought the used cylinder for the 044 and get looking close at the crank and find out it is cracked/broken. (Wondered why the flywheel would rub going by the coil) Is it relist for parts time? or anyone have a crank for reasonable?

I am guessing that seller of saw did not make good. If not a negative feedback is the way to go as a warning to all. I would probably put saw up as parts saw, set a reserve or start bidding for what you paid for it, descibe it as best you can. I have seen blown out 044 sell near 3 bills for parts. Good luck

Sorry to hear about that. I would consider a bad crank to be end of a saw. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I bought an 056 in pieces off ebay for $75. When I got it, it turned out to be an 056 Mag that just needed an ignition. Jug, piston, crank were perfect. Now I have a good saw that I regularly see sell for $300-$400.

Then, I bought a trimmer that was quite a bit rougher than advertised, but probably the seller could argue that it was fine. Oh well, I got it to run pretty well and I'll probably put a new piston in.

Ebay should give odds on getting screwed.

The seller has agreed to give a partial refund, but I still have not gotten the refund. He also still claims, the guy he got off, said it was a running saw. It must have made some pretty good noise when it last ran.

Wait until you get the refund, leave the guy a neutral feedback saying 'saw not as described, only partial refund given' sell it back on ebay for balance left after refund. THere are better deals out there. Mark it down as lesson learned. good luck

It's hard to find on their site, but you can also file an eBay Fraud Report and get a small percentage of your bid price back.

I went through the same thing with an 026. Sold as "great" other than the coil was removed for another saw. Turns out it was a flat-out wasted, burned up, ex-rental. I couldn't get anything out of the seller and ended up selling it for parts for half what I paid. At least I said it was trash when I listed it.

It was about two years ago, I don't recall who it was. Can probably look it up if I find the paperwork.

I had the same problem with an 066 last year. "runs, and I don't know of any issues. " -Same thing, the flywheel was rubbing the coil, the main was out. The noise was unbearable.

Jensen,

I could have used some parts off your saw a couple days ago. You could have gotten some of your money back and saved me some. If you decide you want to sell it le=t me know and I still may have a need for it.

Bill I already bought the used piston and cylihder from Cheapstihl parts and found a used crank, so I kind of comitted now. As for the refund I heard nothing yet! I think he'll due for non positive feed back.
