I'm in the market for a new climbing saw. My 192 well, you know. I've had a lot of experience with the 201 and I'm not a fan at all. I've heard a lot of good things about these new saws but now starting to hear bad reviews on the 540. Now that they've been out for a bit (maybe not the 540) does anyone have long term ratings on them? Or any reviews at all. Thanks guys.

I've been running the 355 for a year now it's a great saw starts very easy no major complaints except it needs a bit more power. My 540 should arrive tomorrow! I've checked the tracking a thousand times looking for a update It'll be on the job Tuesday

Well I was the first one in Canada to have the 540 (via Honey Bros) have had it since late September and have had 0 issues. That's why your running my 200 this week! lol. I'll let ya try it next week if we're working together ! Jeff has a 355, nice saw and no complaints from him about it either.

Mine arrived about 2 hours ago. Tested it up against my well broke in 355 with the muffler gutted and razor sharp yellow stihl chain. As far as cutting cookies the 540 is stronger out of the box. That's all I can say for now and I have no complaints with the 355 it's a great saw just wish my 200 were operational to have a 3 saw test off. The 540 is defiantly a different feel I like how the starter is towards the back, captive single bar nut and auto return stop switch. .. it's also smooth with the spring a/v...

540s first day on the job went well. One thing I was concerned about was how it starts when hot. It passed that test. Time will tell.

I own 5 of the echo 355. Love them takes a beating keeps going

I've never had problems with cold starting any saw other than a 288xp but at 180 psi and no compression release it's always gonna be a pain to start in the cold... The autotune does hunt around though when cold. Got that 355 yet? I'm debating selling mine as I don't think it'll get used much any more.

I run all makes of saws like em all but husky has my heart like the 200t does if that makes sense and I can't beat his price that's a good deal... I use a 271t 70% of the time so when I step up to a large top handle it needs to pull a 14 inch bar with authority sometimes a 16. In my opinion the 540xp and 200t do. Remember I have nothing bad to say about the 355t it's a great saw and well worth the money. If I were buying saws for climbers it'd be the 355. I just happen to be a owner operator.
