I just picked up an echo 452VL used and Im having trouble with it bogging down.
I played with the air/fuel mixure, the adjustment is right next to the handle but no luck. It starts right up and idles nicely but when it gets fuel throttle it will bog down after a second or two. Like I said I tried adjusting the air/fuel to many different settings but no luck. Anyone ever had one of these saws? or have any suggestions?

I'm working on one right now ... When I got it, it had some serious fuel delivery issues. I don't know how inclined to clean the carb you might be, but mine was really nasty.

To start off, set the H and L needles 1 1/4 turns out each. That will get you close and then tweak them accordingly (clockwise = lean/less gas, counterclockwise = rich/more gas) ...

Does the oiler work on yours? (on a side note)

Yes oiler does work.. I had to clean out the discarge hole,or whatever its called, and made sure tank was full,it didnt work at 1rst when tank was only about 1/4 th full. It seems like a nice saw got it at a flea market for $20.

Turning the needles 1 1/4 turn worked. This thing is screaming now. Gonna go out and splurge on a new bar and chain now.
Thanks

started bogging again, checked fuel filter and fuel line coming from tank. It was so spongy it fell apart in my fingers, just ordered a new one, going to take a week to get but think thats the prob.

The line fell apart? That's something that many people around here say is pretty common on these old echo's. You can use the green fuel line (can't remember the exact name) but you can get it at places that sell saws, trimmers, etc. It seems like it would last longer IMO. As for the filter, just slide the cotton(?) part off and clean it good with carb cleaner OR soak it overnight in a mix of water and dishwashing soap then rinse it out.

Glad to hear that it's running though. Fuel line should have you rippin trees.
