I have several Echo 500VL saws, none of them qualify for the recall. Serial numbers are too high.
But I also have a couple of John Deere 55V saws, which are the same saw as the 500VL.

Echo/Kioritz says they have nothing to do with recalls on the 55V, and John Deere says they have no knowledge of the 55V and no longer handle their own line of hand held small equipment.

I wondered if anyone knows of John Deere 55V saws being replaced for that flywheel issue?
By the time the 500vl and 55v went into production, Kioritz had long since been making saws for John Deere... so I'm pretty sure 55V saws did not just go into production after the flywheel "grenading" issue had been corrected.
I'm pretty certain some of the early 55V saws had the faulty flywheel.
Neither John Deere or Echo were any help when I called.

Anybody have any knowledge of any of this?
Do any 55V saws qualify for the recall?
