had this saw up for trade before but decided a sale would probably be better. everything works, saw runs great, and includes the 18" .050, 3/8's bar with half life chain. selling to buy a 33" LW tsumura in .058, .404 D009 so if you got one of those i may be into a trade. $140+shipping. please note i can only ship wed-fri every week.

I'll run whatever but seems the LW bars are harder to find in .063 .404. Not hard at all to get .058 or .063 .404 here. I'm gonna peak around to see cause I would like to run .063. Another thing is hold a loop of .063 and a loop of .058 for a 33". I swear the .063 feels a pound heavier

I don't think I've ever compared the two. I do have one 107DL loop of .404-.058G that I can compare with a 107DL loop of .404-.063G. Just need to have both dug out at the same time. Not sure if it'll be a valid weight comparison though, as the .058G loop is used semi-chisel (or chipper, can't rember) and the .063G is new square ground chisel. IIRC both are skip...

Recently there has been a lot of .404-.058G on ebay. Some warehouse must've been cleared out.

Availability of bars is gonna be my deciding factor. It seems like everything is .058 around here. I don't really have a preference though as they are both easy enough to get and have no real noticeable difference in anything. I got 26" .404 .063 on my 372 and it is the best set up I've ever used on it.

Interesting. I like .404 a lot. For the most part I run it on the 90cc class and up saws only. Have never ran it on a 'modern' 70cc class saw. I do have an old Homelite C-5 (77cc) that wears a 21" hardnose and a loop of Oregon 27. It's a dandy ripping saw. My 288XP had a .404-7 rim on it before I rebuilt it. It runs 3/8 now.

there's alot of opinions on the matter of .404 vs 3/8's. i know one heck of alot of fallers here on the coast and it's almost a split 50/50 between 3/8's and .404. seems the guys running 3/8's are also running 70cc saws and the guys running .404 are running 90cc+. i'm just going with what my original attraction was to .404. longer chain life, wider kerf, and doesn't break. my 372 used to have a 26" 3/8's setup on it before but that bar was pretty well toast so i scrapped it. all i had was a stihl mount 26" .063 .404 so i threw on one of mikes adapters and have been running it ever since. so far this current setup on my 372 has been my favorite. so, enough beating around the bush Aaron. just buy this echo :D

Never tried an echo. Its tempting

you might be an echo guy and not even know it ;) it's actually a decent saw. everything works as it should and i could get a comp reading off of it tomorrow. i remember checking it before and i think it was around 160.

bump!!! calling all echo guys. i'll do $150 shipped on this saw and that is my bottom dollar. it will be a ground cutting saw before i take any less. shipping on this will most likely be very close to $50 so i'm only clearing $100 on this clean echo.
