Echo Carb Adjustment Tool

I took my 450P in to get the oiler adjustment screw replaced (broke half of the screw head off) and to see if he can fix the problem with not being able to keep the chain tight. While there, I asked if I could order the Echo carb adjustment tool so I can make the adjustments myself for the 450P as well as the blower.

He said he couldn't sell me the tool because it's "illegal" and he would be fined $3500 if he sold it to me and got caught. I thought, "BS" in my head while I said, "Really? Wow". Long story short, I wont be going back to him.

All Seasons Power Equipment in Richmond Hill, GA. Unfortunately, the closest one to me and it's a 45 minute drive. Will probably swap to Stihl once the Echos give up the ghost.

it should be just a slotted head,, in other words a small screw driver,,, if the red limiters are still on it then that's all you need is a small screw driver

The carb tool is mostly for the blower and the blower looks like it's a inverted square/D/or half circle of some sort.

Really? I guess I should have bought one from the dealer up in Dover when I lived there because he said he could order one for me. Can't remember why I didn't just go ahead and order it.

Thank the EPA for not being able to buy carb adjusting tools, your dealer wasn't lying to you. They stopped them from selling them on US ebay also.

if I have one that I don't have the tool for,, I take the carb off,, take a thin cutting disk on my dremel and slot it,,, you can get the tools on evil bay

May have to do that because this is will be the third time I've had to take it to a dealer to adjust the blower.

The local Stihl dealer said he could order one for me. But I decided to skip the tool requirement by getting the M-Tronic.

Easiest and best way is too order a proper 4 piece carb adjusting set off amazon. There's the spline, pacman, sigle d and double d. l think you may be descibing the single 'D' one. Either way an adjustable carb is a must IMO so if you have a small cutoff wheel for a dremel....they do wonders. Good luck.

Haven't seen those in quite some time.

Easiest and cheapest is to use one of these. One end goes into a regular screw driver the other fits over the carb screw and your ready to go.

they are makeing the newer carbs where you cant cut them i have all the carb tools they make but one if you need to know where to get a small engine d tool just let me know

My 450P has regular slotted needles and does not require special screwdriver.
