I recently acquired subject saw that had no spark.I narrowed the problem down to the CDI module.Have not been able to find a replacement. My question is:has anyone had any luck repairing these modules or are there any other modules around that can be modified for use on this saw?Its in to good a shape to throw in the garbage.

I’ve got a very nice 330EVL that my neighbor gave me after it sat for several years. A bit of maintenance and it fired right up and runs great. The parts are obtainable for this saw and in my opinion it is worth fixing.

Before you spend any money you might as well try baking the coil. Also make sure that the plug cap is well connected to the coil wire.

Another free option to try would be to put the electrics and flywheel back together, remove the plug, and use a drill on the flywheel bolt to rapidly spin the motor. I don’t know why but I have had this work before. Spin it in both directions a few times and then test for spark. You have nothing to lose and you might get lucky.

Sundance:I play around with saws as a hobby which I find is a good way to keep busy and the brain cell active.my ultimate goal is to repair them to running order and hang them on the wall.i try to keep my expenses as low as possible and like to stay in the $20.00 range, which I now know is not possible for this saw
Goofaroo:Thanks for the tips,i'll give them a try.
