Hi

What are peoples opinions of this saw? There quite cheap over hear around 300 quid compared to nearly 500 for a Husky 338xpt. I probally wouldn't use it that much so the Echo would be good but if there're crappy the Husky investement would come through in the end.

Echo products are excellent, quality is top, reliable. The 350 t is replaced here now by 360 T .Probabbly the same at your place thats why the 350 is cheap.Comprared easilt to Husqui.

I have one, it's OK, nothing like an 020 though, tends to have regular running/carby BS problems, just today I stripped the carby (again) and blew it all out and give it the once over now I'll see how it goes tomorrow.

The last thing I'd buy is the Husky. :)

Best bang for you buck in the way of saws, the brake sucks though. Doesnt hit the high notes to well but keeps on going. Its no MS200 but good all the same.

Hey Timber, I know how to fix the brake and make it good.

Take the cover off and you'll see there is a steel washer between the spring and the cover/housing ... remove the washer and the spring will have less force. :)

Is that a personal thing or is the 338xpt crappy like the 335xpt?

Well, there's a Stihl vs Husky fight to be had anyday but frankly I dont care about that, remove the names if you like and try both.

I have owned both a 020 and 335xp.

Put simply, my 020 is on its third year and I got rid of the Husky in 9 months.

They are not as robust, idle and run tempermental and dont have as wide a torque range. Bits bust all the time on the Husky and not as powerful.

I dont care what any one eyed Husky player says ... they are second best to Stihl. And I use saws every day.

If you are gonna pay all that money for a 338, pay that little bit more and go Stihl.
