Echo cs 490 gas tube replacement

I just got an Echo cs 490 after a lot of research and felt it met my needs at a decent price point. Yeah, I got caught with my pants down when Hurricane Helene came through. I got it used on eBay and it's been fine. I did want to do a basic tune up, so got the spark plug and filters. When I replaced the fuel filter I tore the gas tube. I have a replacement but have not found anything on how to replace it. Yes, chainsaw repair ignorant. Do I need to remove the gas tank, or can I get it done by removing the carburetor, or what is the best way to replace the tube?

Looks like a simple fix. 3mmx5mm fuel line. Oem pre cut

I just sold a guy 4' for some saws.

Cut long enough to make a angle cut to push through tank and pull through.

Then attach to carb and fuel filter.

490 and 501 shown

I can look close if need be. But not thinking have to move anything. Echo line last forever so never had to do one.

Yeah, if I hadn't been so . . . enthusiastic, I would not have torn it.
This is the part. The grommet fits into the gas tank shell near the carb. The way it is designed looks like you just push it in through the top. I'm just trying to minimize my disassembly and keep it as simple as possible to avoid my inevitably losing a critical part on the debris strewn floor of my shop.

That's interesting. I would have never even known they were like that.

I've even had the carb and cylinder off this one.
