No offence to the un-initiated, or the hobbiest, but please only repond to this thread if you're in the know....this is NOT intellectual snobbery, but I'm about to grab, what I think is a bargain, and I wanted your help on whether I should or should not buy the saw. Echo CS 750 VL. About 10 year old, very little use. Never mind the years or the use...IS THIS A GOOD SAW ?????
Again, no offence to anyone, but Geodore, Gypo, Gasoline, old saw addict, fishhuntcutwood, etc ...it's these kind of blokes that have given me excellent info. so far...no brown nosing, just fact.

The CS750EVL is an overweight, underpowered saw that vibrated like a dog trying to sh!t peach pits by todays standards although it was very durably made. It doesn`t have a chain brake either but the manual oiler might be nice if the saw were to be used for milling.

Parts for these old Echos were very hard to get at one time though there were alledged to be parts somewhere tied up in legalities while the company went through some reorganization. It seems like the rubber goods on these saws were very failure prone.

I don`t believe that this saw could be only ten years old, I bought one around 1981 and I don`t think they stayed in the lineup that long.

$75 US would be a fair deal for one in mint condition IMO.

In 1982 or 3 the Echo 750 was a top of the line saw. Was hard to beat for the money, i sold a pile of them. I had one myself and it was a wood cutting hog. Yes the rubber parts sucked when they touched alcohol, they melted. I would but another one today for the right price. It would fit in between my med and big toy. That reminds me there is one right up the road, maybe its for sale...Bob
