I've never seen a CS-8000 for $900-1000. Regular price on them is about $819.95, however, that's with a dealer who won't budge...I know where you can buy a CS-8000 for $712.95 to your front door, right now. I understand your point though and I refer back to mine regarding the CS-1201. 880 is definitely a beast though!

Yeah, my dealer is real high. My last purchase with him was when I needed a 14" chain made. That sob cost me $30 and cost him a customer. That was when I found Stihl, been in love ever since.:)

That Echo looks bad for sure, I just don't see it hanging with a 880. Not a bash either....

Understood, I'd be shocked and surprised if the 1201 hangs with the 880...however...that's why price point is key in this deliberation, but only if you're buying the 1201 in lieu of the STIHL based on performance expectation. If you're buying for purposes of having the only one around...then the decision takes on an entirely different dimension.

True! A new in box 1201 would be a excellent addition to a collection.

So what is the years made on the 1200 and 1201.
I never heard of them till this thread and just curious to learn.
If one is to be had I am sure I can check out Bob's 1201 someday.

OMG...That saw is pure Sex!:jawdrop: :jawdrop:

Have to wait and see what my Tax refund is...but If I got the $$ and the deal goes though, It'd look mighty nice sitting on my Mantel!

I mean really, it can probably pull a 48" bar right? 116cc's it better pull a 4 foot bar...

Never happened here. We are lucky, our government cares about the air quality we breathe. Unfortunately not much about the quality of food we eat, but then hey, thats what we got Obama Care for right?

For a price tag around USD 1,300 it's the most expensive saw in this region
Based on hearsay the saw has good combination of chain speed and torque
Apparently torquey enough to give 090 a good run for its money, knowing echo i believe it could be on par with ms880 in torque
Or someone could do a comparison side by side cut with ms880 and see how it fares ?

Typical modern saws, friggin bogs down when you jamm it in the log
088 was not brought in here though 070 is still available brand new, but 084 was available back in the day.
Loggers those days said it was heck of a saw, except for the common bearing failure what i heard frm them.
Anyway i believe 1201 has the old looking design and it could be a torque monster who knows ?
Someone with 1200 or 1100 should comment how the saw responds in term of speed and torque

So we never got the 1201 stateside, do they even make the 8000 anymore or is the biggest new echo you can get a 60cc?
