Snagged an evl900 locally. Took it out and ran it today.
Felt plenty strong... mowed through a 26" maple log like butter.
It has a bit of trouble idling hot... think I need to lean up the L just a touch...
And first run the fins of the cylinder smoked like the devil, looked like he had spilled or melted something onto the saw... didn't seem to be coming from the motor. Next time I use it I'll see if it repeats the smoking. But honestly... for only being a few lbs lighter than my g070, it sure feels lighter (6" less bar probably helps) and I may be tempted to find a 36" bar and stick this in my mill or strap it in as is for smaller jobs.
Any tips or things to watch out for with this saw?
