Echo guys- what is the breakdown of their "commercial" and "consumer" lines?

Who says clamshell is not pro? You? HA!!!!

I will say this..

If I took a CS-670 and made a jig, and a chain dyno of sorts, and ran a MS-441 next to it, both running WOT, with enough load applied to keep them both at 12,500 revs, with an endless supply of fuel, running both until they just totally melted down...I think We'd both be shocked as to how long they lasted.. Not saying which one would last longer, honestly I cant say one way or the other, but I think it would make for a very interesting test.

I dont think the fact the Echo is a clamshell, and the Stihl is a case/cyl style would have ANY effect on the outcome of the test...none, 0. The fact one is one way, and one is the other is really a moot point in functionality, it really comes down to service..because after they both melted down, Ill promise you I could have the Echo back running 100% in less than half the time it would take a Stihl Legendary tech to make the Stihl 100% again, and considerably less expensive too.

12,500 is that all it's got:biggrinbounce2:

Cut wood with the same two saws and see which one lasts longer. Won't be the ECHO

Red, you send me the saw and I will do your little test against my 441......Why don't ya ask your rep for one and watch him stutter.

Ummmmm, the CS-670 is a crankcase and cylinder design.

Red, i'll get with the Stihl rep and we will use his machine that feeds fuel at WOT for 24hrs straight and we can do your little test. WOT at 24hrs straight is the equivelant of 500hrs of life on a unit.

Dare to try it....
C'mon Red, have your Echo rep call me.

+1

make the call

What Red's really saying is that Echo copied Stihls 1994 consumer grade clamshell design... and called it "commercial".

LOLOLOLOL

So why is it again that no logger I have ever met or heard about has a Echo saw???????

Oh wait I know it's cause all the guys on the fire crews bought'em up...... no.... wait, never seen or "heared" about one there either.

Firefighters!!!! gotta be the Firemen bought'em all... for all those important rescues??

Hummmm.

So why is it that the guys whos lives and livelihoods ride on a saw don't pick Echo????? I mean all they make is the best product on earth right. :D

Actually, the FD's around here really like their Quik-Vents, and cleanup Saws (echo).

I know you guys dont believe me...but around here, Echo is what Stihl is in the PNW...They are literally all over the place, seems like everyone has one, landscapers' trailers are lined with Echo PE's, PB's, SRM's, HC's...etc.

Road crews seem to use Shindaiwa more than anything, but Echo is creeping in more and more all the time.

The problem seems to be getting people to get over the notion that Echo is inferior, and not worth a 2nd look..

Once you get one in their hands its all over, they will walk out with it.

WOT is invalid.. do the test at max power (whatever that is for the Echo in question), for 500 hours.. Like stihl does with the BR600's...

He's probably calling AOD to ask for help and opinions.:hmm3grin2orange:

I wish I could find my video of the Echo trimmers trying to light up a light box. Notice how I say trying.

LOLOL... we don't. Sorry, you aren't comparible in any way to the GREAT the PNW...

That's Home Depot's theory. Pity they get a boat load of returns that Echo eats.

if you get the echo rep in your door to test, make it $40. my money says he will run a mile

I cut against the Echo rep at an open house I was through the log and on half way through my second cut when he gave up.
Then I wanted to cut against his polesaw and he went and put Stihl chain on it to make it cut faster. What a joke.
