I was not sure exactly where to put this question, I hope that the commercial guys have experience with this saw and can help.
I have an Echo PPT 2400, and am having a problem with the plastic collar that connects the motor to the shaft breaking. I was talking with a friend that owns a CNC machine shop about making either a replacement piece for the plastic one out of carbon steel, or making a plate to go over the
plastic piece to re-enforce it. From the photo you can see where the plastic has cracked at the forward left bolt.
Does anyone know if there is a metal replacement part being manufactured by anyone? I have searched on Google, as well as this forum to see if
this topic has been discussed and have not had any luck.
As you can see from the second photo, the plastic piece supports the entire weight of the motor, and is the piece that sees the most stress when starting the motor...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
