Rare and usage are not related to each other.
I have a Sand Cast Stihl Contra made on Day 1 that is sure as hell not common but was used.
I have a Mozwood that sure as hell is rare but the ole gal was used hard.

I appreciate your willingness to do that, but it was too big of an ask.
The guy seemed a little sketchy to me, and didnt have PayPal or anything similar. It ended up that I was able to pay his sister for the saw using PayPal goods and services, so I felt better about going ahead with the deal. And he sent the saw immediately and it was very well packed.
It was amazing really. She dropped the saw off at USP on the morning of Dec. 11, and it landed on my porch the next afternoon. I can't even imagine how they did that.

Folks that had them apparently did not use them that much, and some that did use them took particular care because they were expensive saws.

The one I have was purchased by a Professor and only used at his cabin. Shows light use and runs great, I run a couple tanks of fuel through it after I figured out why it pulled over so hard! and got it running. Never ran one or heard one before. Interesting saw but it is for sale if anyone is interested. CJ

Funny, I was under the impression that this saw was rare. If you look at the pictures it appears to be in fairly good condition. Ken
rare, but not that rare as far as twin cylinder saws go. They come up fairly often on evilbay and other auction sites. Usually in decent shape.
