Thay have nothing to do with Husqvarna. They are supposed to be a good saw,but I would'nt buy one.My brother had a Cub Cadet that is a rebaged Efco. IT didn't last long at all

I've heard too that they are a good saw and have thought about getting one. But the thing that worries me is the warrrenty. There are no dealers around hear and if the saw goes ka-put, what do ya do. That's why i stick with Stihl and Husky cuz they have local dealers.

I have a 165 with a 20" bar. I've had it for 6 months now. I have done a muffler mod to it. Basic 3/4 hole and pipe. I would compare it to a stihl 441 now, it cuts just as fast. So for $544 compared to $849 and about $7 SS pipe, I'll put the other $300 into yet one more Efcho. If the saw blows up before the 2 years I'll send it back to Bailey's for a replacement. I plan to try out the 132 prob do same thing open up the muffler abit. I can't see spending money on Stihl, except the 200 now. They really do have the market cornered on the climbing saw. I really do hate the fact I have to pay more for a saw so they can give saws and money away for their sponsorships.

That's not giving money away, it's advertising. "We are the best..."

"...and the super-pro's use Stihl! "

You probably pay a much higher % of your Stihl purchase in other advertising and dealership license fees than you do for their sponsorships.

If the saw blows up in 2 years...Baileys will laugh at you....you modded the muffler & voided the warranty!

I doubt they will laugh, but if you feel so, so be it. I'll just put the org muffler back on it and send it back. Duh. They don't repair them they send it back to the factory. I have modded saws before and have not blown one up yet thank you. Last Dolmar I had ran for 6 years with a muffler mod and little carb adjust.

Cuase they pay them to homer. So they can get some like you to buy the name. Did you own air jordans when Mike was on top? Guys like you mostly did. They have to be the best sneaker Mike wears them. Open your eyes is all I'm saying, I'm not looking for a fight. If you can buy a saw get 5 years out of it, same as you will with a Stihl, then way pay twice as much. The efcho saw runs very well even without the mod. It is a well made saw for the cost. And if you buy one I highly doubt you will be disappointed in it's proformance. I will say as I did before the 200 is the mac daddy no other saw like it. I do plan to try the 132 though for half the price. If it runs as good as the Husky, well then for the money it is a good saw.

That goes foe any saw though and a new muffler is alot cheaper then a new saw though.

I bought an Efco climbing saw and they never could get the carb right. Finally after going round and round with the dealer they got me another one. Same thing. I would not have an Efco up my azz if I had room for Ohio.

Hey there! I was just presenting their sales approach, I never said that I was buying it!

Quite frankly, I like my Husq'ies as well as my Stihls, and I don't mind any other saw brand, if it's not junk. One of our most preferred light saws is our Echo, and I have about all the Shindaiwa model's made (I used to be a dealer).

I bought an Efco climbing saw and they never could get the carb right.

How long ago was this? Cuase when they switched the fuel around even brand new 200 carbs where messing up. Seems, or so I was told, the fuel was melting the diaphragms.

I'll chime in and say that I really like my 71cc Olympyk 970 (parent company is EMAK which produces Efco and Oloe-mac and in the past Olympyk, Italian made). I haven't compared it to my 044 yet, but I think they'll be close. My 970 is of pro construction and quality, well built, and to some it might be a tad heavy. I bought mine used. Would I buy another one? Yep, but I'd go for a used 980/981 (81cc) which I believe is the same weight as the 970. I think they have did some changes to the current models, and changed the model numbers.

Efco Like it has been pointed out has had a couple of different name, all the same company and the same product.
It has been Oleo-Mac and Olympic, now Efco. They make the Cubcadet products and recently the John Deere Saws.

I have 2 of them, both the green JD versions, they are fantastic saws, the 40 I have a is a Magnesium motor in a plastic jacket, similar to a lot of huskys, and the 62 is a mostly mag saw, both have tons of power compared to weight, and have run very well. I would not hesitate to buy another Efco. I hope someday to find a JD Cs81 when I have the money to buy it, but if I cant I would very happily buy the MT8200.

In my opinion they are a pro saw at a consumer price and you cant go wrong.
Dealer support being important to any saw, Id make sure you had a dealer in mind incase something comes up, but if not Im parts arn't impossible to find.

Then why mention the saw blowing up in the first place, if you have modded them with no problem as you say????????

Hint....they will laugh! you think swapping out a muffler will hide anything? If baileys replaces your saw after what you posted here....then their not too brite, Duh!

Regardless of replacing the saw at all. Leave it stock, I just said what I did with mine. They give a 2 year warr, only thing you get from Stihl is a hand shake and a stiff one if the saw goes.

If they wont take it back it's no big deal. I've saved so much money from Buying Efcho saws I'll just buy another and still be ahead of the Stihl owner bank wise
