Now that I`ve had my 460 back from Ed for a while I feel qualified to say that Ed has done an outstanding job on this saw.

It revs FAST and pulls from the ground up although she really rips. I `ll let Ed tell you at what rpm if he feels like it, but until then I`ll let it suffice to say that the powerband runs alot higher than it used to. I believe that Ed did a phenomenal job on this saw and he`s a great guy to boot.

He made the 460 a fun saw to run.

Sorry that I don`t have any video capability to back it up, but there are a few guys here on the site who can back up what I`m saying.

Russ

Hi Russ, glad you got to run the 046 thru it's paces. We were all wondering how you liked it. I ran it as well at Ed's and was impressed with how it cut. Ed said he likes to run several tanks thru a saw first as he did yours. I'd put my $ on it running faster than a stock 088 regardless of wood size.

Thanks Russ , lets just say it turns 2500 to 2700 more rpm's in the wood over stock and with more torque. I am sure that the more you run it the better it will run to cause that ring will take awhile to seat.
So Russ when are you sending me one of those other ones, that 361 could be fun but it doesnot matter husky , stihl , dolmar they all work when done

Hi Ed,

The 460 is a real pleasure to use, it`s got balls now! I haven`t sent another saw yet because I figured that you were too busy this time of year and I wanted to get a little more time on the 361 before I send it anywhere. At any rate, I`ve decided to send the 361 to glens so he can try it out, so I`ll send you a 7900, or do you have any all ready to go?

I`ve got to admit that the 7900 is a very sweet saw even when stock. Beautiful power to weight ratio and very smooth. It makes me feel better in light of what Husky is doing to the 372.

So is this a work saw or a plaything? those sound like big increases that may have difficulty in the West. Just curious.

No the 460 is a work saw, not a racesaw, a racesw would be alot faster and be on alcohol if i built it, i cut a tandem load of firewood with it so that would be 6 bush cords and it was all hard maple in the 16inch to 25 inch diameter , so if it was going to have trouble it should of done it there, when i started i never stop until i was done just to but gas and bar oil in it,

Russ thats fine , the 7900 's work well when finished, you can send anytime , the only trouble i am seeing with the 7900 is the off and on switch is junk but Dolmar man has told me that they have changed them and guys that donot use the decompressure
it will tear the rewind hub out of them and that is on the stock ones, i have not had a ported rewind hub go out yet , i guess because the psi is pretty high in the ported saws that everyone uses the decompressure valve.
right now all i have is a 7900 and a 6400 both on alcohol, but i have 6 -7900's on there way here as we speak , they were alittle hard to get ahold of with all the storms down south.

if Glens is not going to port the 361 send it up when he is done with it , i am getting some pretty good power out of the new style stihl's

jokers,
Good to hear the 460 turned out good and why wouldn't it, "Ed dose a superb Job.
I an curious as to how the 460 compares to your 372.
