i dont know were they are on a empyre. but when you change em put some anti seize compound on the threads not the first 2 or 3 but next time they will come out real easy.

Yes I always use never seize on any fittings. Nobody on this site has a Empyre boiler? I'm trying to help a friend with his and his manuel doesn't mention them.

I haven't heard anybody talking about anodes on an Empyre before, but I don't have any experience with one either though.

I haven't been around a Empyre either but when you google up parts none show up. My Garn has them and they are just on a pipe fitting screwed into the top of the water chamber. If the Empyre has them you should see them on the top .

Top is covered with roofing tin. So you can't see the boiler, on the back of the boiler there are two pipe plugs on the left hand side but you'd need to drain the thing in order to tell.

Actually Garns are the only boilers I've heard having anode rods in them - but I haven't seen a lot of OWBs.

Garn actually stopped using them a couple years ago I think - they were having problems with them disintegrating then the crud getting into the system & messing circs etc. up. They are big on regular annual water testing & treatment though - likely the best course of action for looking after boiler internals.
