I came across this tool several times in the last year and wonder what you all have to say about it. Search under "Tree Help Rope Saw", and have a look. Has anyone used this thing before, if so tell us about it. HC

So what happens when you clear your cut? 48" of saw chain comin at ya! I'll stick to climbing and using a handsaw for those precarious cuts.

Yeah Ross, thats it. RedBull, thats just one issue I have with this thing, just want to here others opinions. I was wondering if anyone has ever used one before or have an application its better suited for other that anchor line for a small boat! :p HC

How is one going to achieve correct angled co-dominant stem cuts and collar cuts?

How is one going to undercut the branch to prevent peeling?

About the only thing I can think of using it for would be to cut fronds off palms

I've seen no less than three of thoses........all stuck, and hanging in trees. As far as a tool for professionals it is worthless.

 yeah, I've seen one. It was stuck on a limb. The homeowner got it pinched and had no way to retrieve it. I wonder if it actually works.

It's not designed for professionals. Designed for homeowners who might not be informed to what the "right way." is. To them, the right way is the way that accomplishes what they set out to do.
