All Husky branded electrics have the engine lenghtwise, and they are made in Norway, by the earlier JO-BU company (as far as I know).

It is the same with Jonsered branded ones, and some Parner branded ones (++, I believe).
Your saw looks like the cheaper Partners, and is probably made by another company, that is also controlled by Husky.

Almost of topic but here is my old one, around 15 years, but MADE IN NORWAY ;)

What does this mean then? The motor is not lengthwise, but it says made by Husqvarna in Italy.

The 440 and up are available with skip as standard in the PNW.. all depends on what the dealer orders.

here in NC everything 440 and up(excl. 880) gets 33RSC, and 310, 390, 361 all get 33RSC3, and 290's and all other .325 get 26RMC3, etc. Our distributor will not ship us any saw with skip tooth. They also won't ship any saw smaller than a 440 without safety chain. Needless to say I usually don't budge when a customer wants me to swap out the safety chain on their 361 for regular RSC cause with the very small # of safety chains we sell I'd be stuck with that extra safety chain for so long that I'd build up a lifetime of inventory on them.
