I chaced a mama coon out of a hollow and put the kits in a bucket before starting to wreck a big willow (fun one, did driftline and zip line.)

I could not bring myself to kill them, but my client (tyhe company owner) and his help thought me mean by helping mama down with the pole hook I chaced here out with.

Does anyone actually kill varmints?

That was very kind of you to do that, you have a happy momma and my respect. Live and let live. If the critters aren't a total nuisance and aren't being destructive leave 'em be imo. If they are out of control.......well, shoot. My Poppa always told me "If you kill it you eat it!", damn, ever try skinning a mouse?

.22 and a 2 leter bottle in the lock box of the bosses truck :jester:

Waht's the 2-liter bottle for?

"varmints" are tree associates. Respect them and relocate them!

What goes around comes around.

Around here we have possums, same kinda pest, same kinda problems.

Most of the time moving them has zero effect on the homeowners problems. The population just shifts around to fill in the hole you've created.

CB caps out of a rifle barrel don't need no steenking silencer. Ever hear one of those old Whamo Air Blaster toys? That's just what it sounds like. Kind of a WHUMP.

coincidently, I also came across a den of racoons as well. I was falling timber and saw a nose sticking out of the crack in a Maple tree, so I put the camera on the tripod for better reach, climbed in the bucket of the tractor and took 127 pictures and here's what I came up with.

Hey John Paul

Remember about 10 years ago when one of the Waukesha tree companies was doing a removal on Lake Drive and they dumped a tree that had a coons nest in it - the babies took off scampering down the sidewalk and the tree guys took after them with shovels beating them to death. That made both the papers and TV and everyone in this business was tarred with the moron brush.

So what, snivelling do-gooders, probably did them a favor, house cats would have played with them to death. When I first saw this post JP, I wondered if you meant you were kicking out black people that hadn't paid the rent. Kind of funny, calm down PC freaks, really, if you think about it.

I think you're using too big a bar for coons!

Where are your bucking spikes on that thing, anyway? :greenchainsaw:
