I'm going to be building a self powered stump grinding attachment for my bobcat 331 excavator and would like a little input.
Probably going to use a Generac 40hp motor with clutch and belt to grinding wheel. I need recomendations on clutch type, wheel bearing and wheel size.
Thinking about using a simple belt tightener instead of clutch system but I'm open. I actually like the elec clutch on my rayco grinder but not sure if I can get one for a 40hp motor.
I'm also undecided on the orientation of the wheel to the loader arm. sideways or inline. It seems like it would be easier to run it inline that way you could use your rotation or swing arm to move the wheel across the stump instead of having to dual action the arm out and in. Thoughts ?
