Got a McCulloch power mac 310 from friend. It starts ok but seems to be very smoky (blue) from exhaust and is dripping spots of oil as well. Anyone got any ideas why these things are happening and how do i correct them? I'm sure its not supposed to be as smoky as its doing!!!!

way too heavy oil mix or leaking bar oil into crank case...

+1

But it could also be that the bar oil isn't lining up with the bar correctly and sprayng the oil all over the cover, running back and burning on the muffler. I've had that happen on a little Mac 130.

If bar oil is leaking into the crank then a noticable amount of liquid will be coming out of the muffler. Although this can also happen if the mix is too 'oily' ...
