Hey All, I'm looking at an F550 Diesel (6.0) 2 wd, cab and chassie. I cant find info on a price anywhere. Hes asking 8,000 which I think is high. Does anyone know what a truck like this should go for thanks. Pete

2003,117,000 miles, needs tires all around, alignment is off, and the ABS light is on. The truck itself looks pretty good, no rust or big dents. Thanks Pete
NO NO NO! My boss has a 2005 F550 with a 6.0 that is having major engine trouble. I would not touch it.

I'd steer clear of any 6.0 no... They aren't exactly known for stellar reliability...

look for one with a 7.3 Mine has been rock solid. Everyone I talk to loves the 7.3 and has had very few problems with them. Just my 2c's... Mike

also, 6.0 is either a bastard child or a perfect option. i know people who have had horrible issues, but i know others who praise the 6.0 and auto combo as it has more power than the 7.3, is quieter, and gets better mileage.
im looking at a 350 cause i cant afford the 550, even thought i need one. im going to stay clear of 2003s cause of injector issues, but 04 was a good year, and 01-02 for the 7.3 was good too, from what i can gather.

Could always go with a 350 and air bags if you really need it, or the same with a Dodge or Chevy.
The Dodge will get you the Cummins, with a rock solid 5 or 6 spd, and the best fuel mileage of all 3 diesels.

im going with airbags and gooseneck myself... should keep the 5-0 off me 
im also passing on Dodge after the last two i had, both with blown motors (gas) and various other issues. im going to try my luck with ford, as ####ty as it may be.
