was looking into piston for ms661 and noticed this these “meteor“ pistons for $20 range
ad says Italian caber rings included but comes from Asia?
I guess some will buy without even thinking or realize it’s too good to be true

I see where it claims Meteor. But then says unbranded in listing.
Brand:
Unbranded

Can not find where it says uses Caber rings. Just says rings Italy. So dont see Caber mentioned in ad?

But true folks wont pay attention. But I try and read ads before buying myself. Thanks

By any chance is China making walbro fake carbs as well, found one on a blown 372 striped saw couple of weeks ago, writing on the top looks different and was responsable for the blown cylinder as well not working right it leaned it out badly off and on.

Walbro makes them in China too and several different ones have different lettering I have noticed. Straight from Wabro site. = The company has ISO certified manufacturing and engineering facilities in the United States, Japan, Mexico, Thailand and China.

Look like this?

The price is a dead giveaway, Meteor pistons with Caber rings are all around $40 US.

I know that and you know that. Buttttttttttt
That price has been steady for a while, I can see that going up in the near future. Bought dozens and dozens of their product in the last few yrs, and never been disappointed. I can always recommend them with confidence, even if the price goes up.

Yes but the black lettering stamp says 55 instead of 11 and the high low jet adjustment looks just like the standard famertec ones

That one is OEM sold right here in US by dealer. Like said above Walbro are made everywhere including China.

Like this? Walbro they use on G372 pro. Was and still is flawless on this one. Normal tuning screwdriver on this one.

They're not fake, Walbro has factories in China. Meteor makes cylinders in China Mahle has 8 factories in China. Every small Stihl I work in has made in China stamped in the carb. I think it's silly to think because their Chinese they can't make good products. I don't like us losing jobs to them but I can't help feeling like there's some racism going on in these thought processes.

Well there might be no shortage of racism, but Chinese-made being synonymous with junk didn't occur in a vacuum with the lights off.

Just like you hear on the streets: oh German engineering... I'd never buy that part. j/k

Or japanese quality control... terrible right? -said no one ever.
