How are you guys doing this fall? I spoke with a couple of other guys in the area, and they are all just about DEAD. Couple things here and there, but otherwise nothing. One guy I know said that all he has been getting calls for are big, nasty trees and they are going for cheap. We actually got called to look at the same job; I bid it at 8,500, he bid it at 5,500, he figures a local lowballer will go in for about $3,000+/- tough access, lots of big trees, everything has to go. I picked up a couple of jobs, good size for me, but they were repeat clients, or neighbors of repeat clients, or referrals from repeat clients... nothing crazy though. I guess it's a good thing that I picked up a cold??? can't work if I'm sick.

Here August and the first half of sept. is always slow then it picks up for a month --just before the holiday lay off. this time of yr it is either little bitty jobs or the really hard jobs that make you wish you could go on a long vacation. and the prices suck right now.. bid 5 this week and got 3.

Business wasn't bad here until the last few weeks. September was deader than dead. Phone hardly rang at all. If it did, it was a repeat customer. Usually, at this time of year, I'm scheduled out two months with work. This year, I'm barely scheduled out two weeks.

It was steady all summer long, I say steady but I wasn't hitting any homeruns. Just in the past 2 weeks it has been very slow. This is only my 3rd year in business though.

I was going crazy with work, up until last week. Now I'm doing plumbing jobs on my rental houses. It'll pick up, though. It always does.
