This tree came down in the high winds last week. Went there the next day to remove it and the hydraulics were frozen solid. I didn't want to force it, the handles would have snapped off in this cold. I think the wind chill that morning was in the single digits. Any how I put a couple heaters on the valves sunday and got everything thawed out. It was in the 40's yesterday and was able to get over there and get er done. i figured the job for a couple hours but it ended up taking 3. I originally planned on backing the truck off the neighbors drive but it was just too wet, we had to pull in to get more reach. We're much stronger off the back of the truck cause we don't have a fifth stabilizer on the front end. Had to take smaller pics over the front of the truck. Still a good $$ job and all went well. Took a bunch of pictures (trying out the new work cam I got for xmass) but I'll only post a few - so far I've only figured out how to post a pic 1 at a time. Any how an easy little job - routine stuff for most of us just thought I'd share. Glad to get out in some nice weather yesterday and have some fun.

as much pressure that was on her wires I'm surprised she didn't lose power. other then a few little dings and dents in the gutter there was zero damage

A crane is on my wish list. I have a friend that has a 15 ton( i think) 95' stick plus 18' jib. I told him if he sells it let me know, cause I will probably buy it. I use him for all my crane jobs. I have helped him out in the past running the crane setting trusses and what not. It makes it nice because I know what the limitations are on the crane, and how it operates.

Nice job. What are the specs on your crane? I had been under the impression that picking over the front without a 5th outrigger was next to impossible but you seemed to be taking some nice sized pieces. Any "pucker" moments?

thanks. it's only a 14 ton - 61 ft boom but it sure does the job, especially in tight places. no pucker moments at all, the crane never flinched. biggest pick was the last log which was maybe 1k. just had to lift it off the wires and clear the house to the right a bit which put us right out in front of one of the main stabilizers. Had to go up and over a row of spruce trees to set down by the chipper

Nice. I've been on the fence about a small crane like yours, they're fairly cheap and there's always ones for sale. Looks like a real sweet setup.
