Hey...I just bought a loop of Oregon 72CL for my MS390. With it I bought a three cornered file adn guide. i know that these chains have 3 angles...inside top plate, outside top plate adn I think teh working corner adn all must meet in teh working corner. What I don't know is if a true chisel file will take care of this in one position(on each tooth) or if I will have to come at it 3 times from different angles. The other q. is what's teh best angle to grind. Iw ill be cutting in fairly clean hardwook(laurel oak, hickory, Golden Chestnut oak etc.) thanks,
J.D.

The Stihl dealer here had never sold a 6 sided file before I had asked for one,,,,, so they sold me the whole box of 12 for cost!

Merry Christmass, as I will send one to you!

Hand fileing Square chisel seems hard for me to get everything right, and I bearly can get it to cut faster then my round filed chain,,,,, it's on my things to learn for 06 list!

Here is a link that may help http://www.madsens1.com/angles.htm

If you would like the file, PM me an address and it's yours.
