Finally! I'm going to score an easy firewood hit!

I scrounged for years here and there. Then I bought a 13 acre woodlot. And then I learned it got harder to bring a big haul home because I can't just back up to it with my truck anymore in a thick woods. Luckily I enjoy the the hunt. But I think ive just hit a winters worth of precut(!) ash at my father in-laws house. He lives in town but has 5 large multi trunk EAB ash trees on the back side of his property that borders on the hospital's open field grounds AND an old right of way for the city. They are cutting them all down tomorrow. And the wood is all mine! I hope this works out for this guy who gets his loads back one gator load at a time! I'll report back with pics if it holds up!

I'm hoping to borrow my brothers double axle trailer if it's available. My FIL just sent me this pic:

pointt he gator at the logs,, with headlights on,, and cut em to length tonight,, tomorrow haul and split!! neighbors wont want saws in early am,, but you can sure haul!!!!

Nice but keep in mind, getting wood is never "easy" unless someone dumps it at your house, stacks it and feeds the stove

I managed to get off work an hour early so one truck load is home! The dual axle is out so I borrowed my dads 6x8 trailer too. Better than nothing! Hoping to get the locust dropped and two more loads done tomorrow between daughter's volleyball games. Now back to chain sharpening!

I'm just amazed it still looks like summer out wherever you are. We are expecting snow here anytime, trees are pretty well bare.

I'm not gonna lie boys. I'm sore. And I still have a truck load of fresh cut locust to unload. Man is that stuff heavy! But a good day. And my daughters volleyball team got the win on my lunch break. Now where's the Tylenol?



The unstacked wood is today's haul. Actually there's a trailer load out the pic I missed. I've still got many loads to get! We've had a very mild fall here so I'm trying to take advantage of it!
