looking for advice on locating and approaching somebody with the intent of buying truck loads of logs from them. theres plenty of logging companies and a few mills near me. ive really been wanting to sell it but i cut mine on state land so i wouldnt really get enough to make it worth my time. i also dont personally know anybody who owns a log truck.

I'm about 2.5 hours northwest of Missoula. Everybody who was selling wood towards the end of this winter was buying it from the mill and then bucking splitting delivering. I'm wondering why I can't look up logging companies in the area and give them a call and just cut out the middle man? Is it too dangerous for a logging truck to cut out the mill on a cash load every now and then, or common practice? I'm talking about maybe 30 cord this year tops and that's if I can find the right price

They do it down here(Billings,MT)
Hang out at the local truck stop between 7-9am and grab names of logtruck co. Or just approach them as they go to pay?

I know the mill at Omak will load up your dump truck or trailer. I guess they sell the unmillable logs during the winter when they are not running. Might check with mills around there.
