Today I helped a friend clean up his yard. We split near 50 face cords using a blockbuster splitter w/convayer (sp). He has a construction and tree service and the wood has been piling up for the past 1 1/2 years. We split the wood where it was piled and loaded it into a dump trailer and moved it to another area in the yard. All the wood had been cut in lenghts of 12-24". Most pieces were very large and had to have 2 people lift them on to the splitter. The ones that were much too heavy we used the skid steer with a grapple. It still was a lot of work with 5 people. My question is are there processors or spliters that have a grapple or boom for lifting cut pieces on to the splitter. Because most of the wood comes from the trees service in splittable lenghts but are too heavy to lift, not long lengtht logs. The blockbuster worked well, not to many pieces that it wouldn't split and only needed to resplit the largest ones.
