This tree from my observation rotted at the bottom and fell over on this car. I bucked it up so it's like a wooden caterpillar now. What kind of tree is this and why does it look like this? Is it a little rotten and very seasoned? What causes this bright smooth wood look and chip panels?

Gum. I see some Turkey Oak leaves amongst others, but none came from that tree, You dont see any Sweet Gum Balls on the ground? Red Maple? IS the wood firm, but kind of light in weight? To me, it looks like hammock land you are in, so ten kinds of Maples/Gums or hybrid Oaks are possible.

For sure, if it aint too punky, CSS.

Here is a log of it split. It is not rotten so it feels like foam would you call this partly seasoned? Is it very hard and still heavy
