Lot of good advice already, the one thing I would say is take your saw and make yourself a nice wide open work area before you start your cuts. It will make it safer for you while cutting, let the spotter and crane op see you better and heaven forbid but if something happens it will be a lot easier for someone to come up and help you down.

but all and all looks like it went well.

The only thing about that is the customer wanted to keep as much of the foliage as possible...either way next time I'm going to tell the customer that I Will have to create a clear spot for safety reasons.. plus I know that after I remove the limbs I need to it will start growing suckers everywhere and take the shape of a huge Bush..which is what the customer wanted (shade)

ah maybe I should have read more, I didnt realize it was not a removal. But you do have to balance satisfying the HO with your safety sometimes.

Ok yeah the Op we use is an amazing operator, I have worked with him so much he knows before I start signaling to start lifting up (slowly) guy we used last week was pretty good too. My usual operator was on vacation. Like I said the more you work with cranes the more efficient and comfortable you get

I definitely can't wait to do my next crane job... I'll have to admit tho I was very anxious waiting for this job...I got the green light from the customer then set the date for the earliest date that me and my crane guy could get together which was about ten days out. Then the Monday we were scheduled for the C.O. got help back at his first job so it put him 2hrs behind schedule and we had to reschedule for the next day.. so I had the whole rest of the day to stay anxious... It drove me crazy.. but now that I git it done I won't be anxious or nervous for the next one...but I Will definately have more help and a cameraman on the ground. I could have used some good pics...
