Was out falling and limbing pinon today with the 5100S, most in the 8-18" dia. range. I'm completely amazed and impressed with this saw, have never used anything like it. Fast in the cut and smooth as can be, like it's hungry for the wood. Nearly instant revs. Excellent balance with 18"-3/8 setup. Came away with the feeling of an extremely well-designed and built saw, certainly the finest I've ever had my hands on. Made the 011 feel capable, but old and slow.
Made me wonder: what has changed in 2-stroke technology in the last 20 years? The 011 is 41cc, the 5100 is 50cc. That's 22% bigger, but this thing puts out WAY more than 22% more power than the 011.
Made me think about ebaying the 011 and picking up the Dolmar 401 for limbing. (Oh no... I've got the disease... )
