Lots of "FUN"
Hey Guys,
Well, we had 5 classes. About 10 saws to a class, 3.00and under, 3.00-4.00, 4.00-5.00, 5.00-6.00, 6.00 and up. 10x10 dry poplar cants, three cuts. My $20.00 026, that was seized tight, 29.25 seconds, first place by 2.25 seconds. I was the third contestant. The 371 that was given to me, because it had been seized twice, 18 seconds and third place, missed first by 2.5 seconds. 2100 Husky, 99cc, got stuck in the 6.00 and up class, smallest saw in class. This was 2 auction saws in one, total cost $2.00, fourth place by .25 seconds at 13 seconds even. OH, I almost forgot, 090KD did me good. First place by 1.20 seconds at a very unsatisfying, 9.30 seconds. I lost my " Race Face " and was almost laughing when the crowd jumped back when I sprayed chips and chunks on them during the up-cut. I actually cut out and had to start my up-cut again. I also demonstrated a Mac 1225-A and a Mall 7-G with the old scratcher chain. A fellow Chainsaw enthusiast, Ted, finally got his act together with his 8800 Homelite, AKA Mike Rupley. First in the 4.00-5.00 class with a "screaming" cut of 13.5 seconds, he also beat me in 6.00 and up, with a sweet Homey 650 with a 10 pin sprocket at 12.75 seconds. Beating my 2100 by .25 seconds. Ted told me to sharpen my chains, as I had used the 026 and 2100 to cut up a fallen tree on Friday. Oh well , there is always the next race. Thanks to everybody for the advice and encouragement. I am hooked, but very satisfied to work with what I have got.
So many saws, so much fun Larry
I entered four saws and ended up with 2 Firsts, 1 Third and a Fourth. First got trophies, First, Second and Third paid, First through Fourth also got ribbons.
The temperature was 92', I really didn't notice till later.
