I've read in a few posts about fitting a Husky bar on a Stihl.

How much do the bar stud slots need to be milled to accomplish this? Is there any work that needs to be done to the oil ports?

I'm thinking about mounting a large mount Husky bar to large mount Stihl (660, not 880-type large).

I could always look when I get home, but that will be a while.

Thanks.

I've done it. I took a still 3003 bar and payed it ontop of the husky bar traced a mark on the husky and went town with a carbide Burr on my die grinder. If I remember right moved the oil passages alittle but I think it would have worked with out messing with it
I've found anythings possible with a few of the right tools. A bar will be cheaper than a die grinder air compressor and set of carbide burrs.
Its us that already have cool tools that kinda tend to bolt stuff in places it may not have been intended

That's just it... I've got the bar and the cool tools. I just wanted to see what little tricks were necessary.

I don't foresee buying a Husqvarna or Dolmar in the near future (not for lack of want, of course), so I might as well make use of this bar with the saws I have.

I'm actually thinking about making my last husky bar fit my stills.

Back when I was running a 372 I put the adapter on it to run still bars and opens up the husky slot to match stihls . That way all my bars were usable.

I'm now down to all stihls with a stray husky bar on the wall

Bar change

Just use a hand held grinder and remove the strap at the end of the bar stud slot first. Then use a grinder to remove most of the metal then flat file to fit. I use my chain grinder a 1/4" wheel to do the job:D
