Them rodents are a pest, always making life difficult, exterminate them all so we can keep the juice on.:dizzy:

Well they ARE rodents.....

anyone read the from the field article in the last TCI mag?

I thought of poor rocky the whole time.

they also start fires...remember reading article on a squirrel that got zapped, caught fire, fell into brush and started a fire...said its not that uncommon...

Solution-drive along with big boom trucks and whack the snot out of the trees. Clearance-not appearance. Or live with it, ha,ha,ha,ha.

Lunch anyone, some how I get a feeling this is not the direction Tom wanted this thread to flow.

That's funny! Apparently Tom reads more of my local paper than I do. I'm from Tallahassee and yes the squirels are everywhere. The worst is when you run across a nest of young ones and when you get up the tree they scatter through out the whole canopy. Not much you can do when that happens. TIMBRRRRRRRRR!:chainsaw:

When I was a groudsman I found a squirrel in the branches that had a huge cut across his back and head, he was dead, I asked and buddy said "I tried to flick him out of the way", with an 020. Same place, buddy urinated on the road, using the toolbox doors so the nieghbors wouldn't see. Then we moved the truck back about 50ft. The city arborist showed up, saw the liquid, put his finger in it and said "I think your boom has a hydraulic leak" Too funny.

The article came up in my daily Google-Search for 'arborist' It's a pretty cool feature of Google. You can fill in any topic and Google sends you a list of all the articles from the media that they search.

Tree Rats...I don't like them too much. I don't go out of my way to kill or harass them but I don't go out of my way to make life good for them.

Many years ago I had feeders out for them. Then, I found that they had girdled the top two feet of a Pagoda Dogwood that I had transplanted out of the woods. Grrrr...I splinted one of the branches into a new terminal leader. The next spring they girdled the tree about a foot from the ground. Within minutes of seeing that I took my hammer out and got rid of the feeders. No more free lunch. Hate dem rodents...

I used to like squirrels, till I found them in my attic one day. Funny thing about those animals, when they take up residence in your house, they think it's THEIR house. They will stand their ground when you go up there. BB gun doesn't work very well either. Traps didn't work. And it takes a whole lot of rat poison to kill just one.

...well, you could always starve your family's pet cat for a couple of days and then lock it in the attic! ...its just a thought...I'm kidding. HC
